• Skimming

• Can be used on existing old plaster to make a better, smoother finish ready for decoration.

Normally two coats are applied no more than 2mm thick. Can be used to over skim over Artex ceilings, which are no longer popular, usually the first thing people want to do when they move into a new house get rid of the 70s Artex !!

• Undercoating\Plaster

• An internal coat plaster is used to build up a suitable thickness usually around 11 mm, prior to applying a skim finish.

Suitable for a wide range of internal backgrounds, including brick, blockwork and in some cases plasterboard if the thickness is too great for skimming (Bonding Plaster Undercoat used).

• Coving

• Coving is usually a plain mould of Plasterboard base material used to bridge the join between walls and ceilings.

For more fancy designs Cornice is used which is more of a solid plaster form.

• Rendering

• Rendering. The process of covering an exterior wall with cement, lime and sand.

This protects exposed brick and other construction materials from erosion and cracking, preventing expensive maintenance or repairs. Different colour mixes can be used to enhance the appearance of properties.
